which all is land. The highest point in the country is

However the lowest point in the country rests at the

Originally the islands were not a part of the Antillean
Arc because Trinidad was once a part of the Central
America mainland and Tobago was a part of an Island
chain which remains completely submerged under the
Caribbean Sea today.
The island of Trinidad is crisscrossed by two mountain
ranges known as the Northern and Central Ranges. The two
main rivers of the Trinidad and Tobago country land are
the Ortoire and Caroni rivers. The former is the most
important and the longest as well. It flows for
approximately 50 kilometers.
