How Organic Cosmetics Work Well For The Beauty Of Your Skin

More often than not we are careful about what we eat and do not really think about what we put on our skin.

Nowadays numerous people are turning to organically grown products, so why should we not turn to organic cosmetics as well?

All those beauty products and cosmetics made synthetically or processed with chemicals are damaging both to your skin and body.

Natural and non-toxic cosmetics are the solution for all those who wish to take care of their body and nourish it with organic products just like they would for a healthy diet.

The irony of industrial cosmetics and beauty products is that not only are they toxic and damaging to the body and environment, they are also less effective than other organic and natural products.

Natural products work in balance with our body and help heal and regenerate the natural process of the skin.

Natural cosmetics are made with ingredients from plants, minerals, and certain animal-derived elements, either untreated or treated with other natural components.

Pure, natural ingredients are minimally processed to preserve the natural benefits they possess.

Natural cosmetics and organic products are certified with a BDIH certificate and this is a well-established German certifying entity, with strict standards that rule the ingredients, production, and packaging.

Organic cosmetics contain ingredients that are grown and produced according to governmentally controlled standards.

These standards are the same that are applied to food controls. Organic products are not treated with synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, sewage sludge, or GMOs.

A truly organic product bears a “Certified Organic” stamp from an official organic certifier.

Though BDIH is a natural cosmetics certifier, it does require product manufacturers to use organic content wherever possible (when available in sufficient quantity and quality). BDIH is responsible for creating the world’s first organic body care certification.

Preservatives play a very important role in the safety and efficacy of natural and organic cosmetics.

Without a sound preservation method, certain cosmetic products may grow harmful bacteria over time. But preservatives need not be synthetic to be effective.

There are many safe preservation methods used in natural cosmetics. Airtight packaging, plant alcohol, and certain herbs and essential oils prevent bacterial growth.

Parabens are synthetic preservatives that researchers estimate to enter our bloodstream and work as estrogen does in our bodies.

Phenoxyethanol is a semi-synthetic preservative that has become more widely used in natural cosmetic brands since more research has been conducted on the toxicity of parabens.

Though some view phenoxyethanol as a safe alternative to parabens, studies show it causes damaging effects on the brain and nervous systems in animals.

Ingredients to Avoid

An organic ingredient has to meet strict requirements regarding production, but organic skincare can still contain ingredients that are not so healthy.

Make sure you know which cosmetic ingredients are harmful and best avoided, and always follow brands with full ingredient listings and clear safety policy displaying which ingredients they do not allow in their products.
