Arkansas State Facts and Brief Information...

Situated in central USA the State of Arkansas offers a landscape of plains, forests, mountains, rivers and cattle land as well as many industrial centers and oil wells. The state boasts beautiful outdoor scenery as well as museums, art centers and parks.

This is the state of the former President Bill Clinton, who was once the governor in Little Rock, the state’s capital. A museum is dedicated to his life. The town of Little Rock is one of the earliest settlements in Arkansas and boasts many museums and cultural sites, amongst which are the Decorative Arts Museum, the Historic Arkansas Museum and the River Market District, to name a few.

Some splendid natural sites are to be found in the Ozark Mountains, where music finds its homeland, with several festivals dedicated to Folk music throughout the year. On the border of the Ozark National Forest there are the Blanchard Springs Caverns that are worth a visit as is the nearby Mount magazine.

There are several natural hot spring sites in Arkansas, such as the Eureka Springs once a Victorian spa resort, now a popular tourist area, where a statue named the Christ of the Ozarks stands nearly two meters high. The Hot Springs National Park is the place to lie back in bathhouses, fish or swim in the three great lakes.

The climate in Arkansas is continental with cold winters and warm summers.
